Kluber goes distance to outduel King Felix

Cleveland (WOIO) - On a day when the Indians said goodbye to their former ace, as Justin Masterson headed to the St. Louis Cardinals, their current ace stepped up and continued his recent dominance. Corey Kluber completely stifled the Seattle Mariners' bats, going the distance, giving up only three hits and striking out eight in a 2-0 win at Progressive Field.

The Indians only managed four hits themselves off Felix Hernandez, who came into the game with 11 wins, but the key hit was Yan Gomes' bases loaded two-run double in the fifth that brought Lonnie Chisenhall and Nick Swisher home with the only runs of the game.

Kluber (11-6) needed only 85 pitches in the complete-game shutout.
