VILLAGE OF MANTUA, OH (WOIO) - Residents of the village of Mantua are without running water for Saturday.
Village officials say damage to the main water line at the plant, caused by corroded plumbing, is responsible for the interruption of service, which was reported some time between 3-5 a.m.
According to officials, repairs at the water plant are complete and water is now being pumped back into the plant's main holding tank. Once it is full, water levels at the reservoir will be restored. This whole process will take many hours.
Village staff will also be out flushing water hydrants Saturday afternoon and evening.
A boil alert will be in effect for up to 72 hours following the return of service.
Residents will continue to be updated via the village's emergency alert system. If you haven't signed up, you can do so by clicking the AMG alerts link at http://www.mantuavillage.com.
