The Ohio State Highway Patrol was on the scene of a separate crash on US 30 near Wooster for about 10 minutes when they heard a loud explosion, the result of a second accident that started a large fuel fire.
The first accident between a semi and a car had stopped traffic when another semi plowed into the back of a stopped fuel tanker. Several people in the first crash sustained minor injuries. The driver of the semi that ran into the back of the fuel truck is in critical condition.
US 30 westbound will remain closed because the fire may have damaged the road to the point where it's not drivable. There's no estimate on when it will be reopened. US 30 eastbound was cleared Sunday evening.
