Highway will be closed for five days due to fiery semi crash

WAYNE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash on US 30 near Wooster. It involved two semi-tractor trailers.

Kenneth Kesner, 27, of Canton, OH was driving a Marathon gasoline tanker truck westbound and was stopped in traffic that was backed up due to a previous crash about a 1/2 mile ahead.

William Nobach, 22, of Mount Pleasant, MI was behind Kenser driving a semi when he failed to stop and struck Kesner forcing his tanker into grass median. Both vehicles went up in flames.

Kesner was able to get out of his truck. He was not injured.

Nobach was ejected. He was found in the grass next to the trucks and flown to Metro where he is listed in critical condition.

Officials say the taker was carrying 6,400 gallons of 87 octane gasoline and 1,500 gallons of diesel fuel at the time of the crash.

According to the Ohio Dept. of Transportation the westbound lanes of U.S. 30 will be closed for the next five days, due to the crash.

So far no charges have been filed.
