KENT, OH (WOIO) -

Kent Police have reported the indictment of a 22-year-old female in connection with a hit-skip accident that resulted in the death of a Ravenna youth wrestling program coach.

Richard Schoepe, 37, was struck on July 17 in the 100 block of N. Water St., just outside his workplace.

According to officers, the driver, who has been identified as Allison Barton, allegedly fled the scene after the incident. She was reportedly high on heroin at the time of the accident.
Barton has been indicted on aggravated vehicular homicide, failure to stop, OVI, and leaving the scene.

Barton remain behind bars at the Portage County Jail, where she's been since the day after the accident.

Schoepe leaves behind two young children and a wife.
