Despite the withdraw from the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday, Tiger Woods' agent said on Monday that he has not been ruled out of the PGA Championship this week at Valhalla.
According to a text message to ESPN.com, Mark Steinburg said it was too soon to determine whether or not Woods would play at the final in Louisville, Kentucky.
"Way too early. He has to rest and get treatment and then assess later," he wrote. "Pointless to make that decision now without proper time to give him best chance. Nothing further today, maybe not even tomorrow."
He decided to withdraw from WGC-Bridegstone after hitting his tee shot on the ninth, and was in physical pain just trying to pick up his tee. Back at his car at the Firestone Country Club, he said he "jarred it" during the fairway on the second hole where he hit the shot in a awkward motion.
This was Woods' third tournament since returning from his surgery back in March.
