Four teens charged in highway rock-throwing incident

(WOIO) - Police have now charged four teenagers charged in the highway rock throwing incident that severely injured a Perry Local Schools teacher.

A 17-year-old boy is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and throwing a missile into an occupied vehicle.

The teens are being charged as adults.

Sharon Budd, who teaches at Edison Middle School, was struck in the head on July 10 by a seven-pound chunk of rock while riding down I80.

She continues to recover in a Danville Hospital.

The Lake and Perry cheerleaders will be holding a car wash fundraiser this week for Sharon Budd.

"Suds for Budd" is Thursday, August 7, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Holiday Inn at Belden Village. 100% of the proceeds from the car wash will go to Sharon Budd.
