COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -
Colerain Township trustees voted unanimously Tuesday night to reject a proposed settlement from Rumpke that meant millions of dollars for Colerain Township but would have allowed a large landfill expansion.
The settlement proposal comes after an eight-year battle between the Township and Rumpke.
In 2006, Rumpke applied for a zoning change to expand the landfill by about 300 acres. When that application was rejected by the Colerain Township Zoning Commission and Board of Trustees, Rumpke sued.
The case is now in the Hamilton County Common Pleas Court. That trial is scheduled to begin on Sept. 22.
