Lions rally past Browns in preseason opener

(WOIO) - Kellen Moore hit Corey Fuller for the go-ahead touchdown with 1:05 to play in the game to send the Lions to a 13-12 win over the Browns in Detroit. Fuller's catch was the first touchdown of the game.

Four Billy Cundiff four field goals accounted for all 12 of the Browns points.

Brian Hoyer got the start and completed six of 14 passes for 92 yards, he was not intercepted and finished with a rating of 65.2. Johnny Manziel relieved him in the second quarter and also failed to lead a touchdown drive. Manziel completed his first NFL throw, a six yard strike to Anthony Armstrong, and finished with 63 yards passing. Manziel completed seven of 11 passes and had a rating of 79, he also scrambled for a team-high 27 yards.

Josh Gordon caught two passes for 32 yards, he did have a Hoyer throw go off his hands in the end zone. Miles Austin and Marqueis Gray also dropped throws from Hoyer, Austin's would have been for a big gain to get the team into the red zone.

Ben Tate rumbled for 25 yards on six carries. Terrance West toted it 10 times for 22 yards.

The Browns play their second preseason game a week from Monday at Fed Ex Field against the Washington Redskins.
