A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the hit and run death of a little boy walking to school last October.
An indictment shows charges against Jerome Lee of Bedford. He also goes by Jerome Vance and Rome Lee.
Israel Thornton, 5, was killed, when he was struck by a vehicle crossing W. 37th and Denison Avenue. Thornton was following his older cousin.
Investigators say Lee struck the child with a 2012 Kia Sorrento, hit the brakes momentarily and then kept fled the scene.
Lee's vehicle was captured by a security camera from a passing school bus.
Lee has been indicted for aggravated vehicular homicide and failure to stop after an accident. According to court records Lee has a previous conviction for driving with no license and reckless operation.
Israel's parents told 19 Action News their son loved his church and his school, and he wanted to attend Ohio State and be a doctor when he grew up.
Police say a crimestoppers tip led to Lee's arrest.
