BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

There are three new faces at the Bowling Green State University Police Department. The new officers were sworn in Monday morning.

Three lieutenants are set to retire at the end of this year. The police chief says with the school year just around the corner, they wanted to make sure the department remains fully staffed.

"Coming in just a couple weeks here, we'll have almost 6,000 people living on campus," said Chief Monica Moll. "It's kind of a city within a city here, and we're excited to be up to full staffing."

The new recruits say they're excited to start the training process. Officers Lopez and Polin will head to the police academy in Columbus for 17 weeks, and Officer Meyers will begin training in the field this week.
