Man accused in 2013 deadly hit and run accident pleads not guilty

A Bedford man pled not guilty to felony charges following a hit-and-run crash in the area of W. 37th and Denison Avenue in Cleveland last October.

24-year-old Jerome Lee was arraigned in a Cuyahoga County courtroom Wednesday. He's charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and failure to stop after an accident.

Bond for Lee was set at $500,000.

Details about the crash had not been released as of Wednesday, ahead of his court appearance.

Lee was arrested earlier this week and charged with the hit and run death of Israel Thornton, 5, who walking to school. Lee's vehicle was captured by a security camera from a passing school bus.

Police say Lee also goes by Jerome Vance and Rome Lee.

Lee will be back in court August 18.
