AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Akron Police are looking for the man responsible for robbing a bank on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers say that the incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. at the First Merit Bank, located at 1060 Kenmore Blvd.

Employees told law enforcement that the suspect entered the bank and spoke with an employee until other customers left the bank.

After stating that he had a gun and demanding money, the suspect fled on foot with an unreported amount of cash.

No one saw the weapon the suspect claimed to have.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a 27-33 year old white male, standing 5'10 - 6'0, thin with an acne marked face.  He was wearing sunglasses, a black baseball hat with a logo on the front, a gray t-shirt turned inside out over a long sleeve green shirt and black faded jeans.

He was last seen getting into a green, Chrysler Sebring convertible with a tan/brown top.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Akron Police Department or local law enforcement.
