AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Jury selection has wrapped up and opening statements began Thursday in the trial of Stow pain doctor, James Bressi.
Bressi's license was suspended by the State Medical Board after sexual allegations against him surfaced.
A total of 11 other women came forward and he was hit with 13 more counts of gross sexual imposition, all felonies, along with 12 misdemeanor counts of sexual imposition.
The prosecutor's case covers allegations over an 18-month period ending in March 2013.
"She had her scrubs on at some point in time. Shortly after that, he put his hand down her scrubs and started massaging her buttocks," said Brian LoPrinzi, assistant county prosecutor.
Prosecutors paint the sex crimes trial of Bressi one way, and his attorneys another.
"Dr. Jim Bressi is going to take this witness stand and tell his side of the story and tell you what actually happened," said Mike Callahan, defense attorney.
Bressi is out of jail on a $1 million bond and remains on house arrest.
The judge told jurors the case will take until the end of next week and to prepare for sexually graphic testimony.
