As the Gay Games wrap up at the end of this week, VSP Vision Care is continuing its support of the LGBT community in Cleveland by providing free eye exams and glasses to those in need.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Clevelanders as well as others in need will receive free eye exams and new glasses through a collaborative partnership between VSP® Vision Care, Neighborhood Family Practice and the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland.

The event takes place Saturday, August 16, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Neighborhood Family Practice - Detroit Shoreway located at 6412 Franklin Blvd.

Comprehensive eye exams are a non-invasive, cost-effective way to detect signs of serious health conditions, including diabetes.

VSP Vision Care is the largest not-for-profit vision benefits and services company in the world with 71 million members.

To date, through community outreach programs that include VSP Mobile Eyes®, VSP has invested nearly $167 million in free eye care and eyewear for close to 915,000 adults and children in need.

Patients for this event have been pre-scheduled. However, a limited number of eligible walk-ins will be seen on a first-come, first served basis.
