Two dead in three east side shootings in Cleveland Sunday; Both victims ID'd

Cleveland Police are investigating a couple of Sunday afternoon shootings that left two dead.

The first shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. at 8802 Superior Ave. near the Superior Food Market.

When police arrived they found two men with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Metro Health Medical Center where 47-year-old Brian Montgomery of Maple Heights died. The other is being treated for a gunshot wound in the leg.

Homicide Investigators were notified and are currently investigating details and possible motives regarding this incident. 

Another man was shot and killed in the 1100 block of E. 123rd just before 3:30. Police say he was shot in the chest.

According to police the victim, James Parker, 35, died at MetroHealth Medical Center. There was an altercation with an unknown suspect right before the shooting. No arrests have been made in either incident.
