Tiger Woods has announced that he will be taking some significant time off the golf course. While promoting a new line of Nike weighted clubs in New Jersey on Monday night, he told reporters that he will be taking a month or two off to get that appropriate rest that his back needs. Woods said, "I just need to get strong. It's one of the things that when I took that fall at Firestone No. 2, I hadn't done any agility work, so that's part of the deal."
Woods also took himself out of Ryder Cup consideration because of the doctors' advisement to take a break from playing and practicing. He plans on returning to the course in December for the World Challenge.
