A Cuyahoga County grand jury will not indict a teacher who was accused of assaulting a student, giving her a concussion.
All charges have been dropped against Cleveland Metropolitan Teacher's aide William Huckabee, who was originally charged with endangering children back in April. The incident happened at Mary B. Martin school.
Reporter Paul Orolusky spoke with the family of the student who claimed she was attacked shortly after the incident happened.
"He was like smashing my whole face and my head into the desk because I wouldn't talk," said 11-year-old Keymarea Terrance, alleged victim.
Keymarea's story was backed up by a substitute who said in a written statement that she saw classroom aide, William Huckabee's confrontation with the 11-year-old.
According to Keymarea, Huckabee ordered her to sit down. She didn't. And that's when she said Huckabee attacked her.
CMSD placed Huckabee on paid leave at the time of the incident, pending the outcome of the investigation. According to a CMSD spokesperson, the school district will now hold a fact-finding hearing to decide if he will be reinstated.
