Patrol investigating a fatal crash in Ashland County

ASHLAND COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

Troopers from the Ashland Post are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on August 19, 2014 at 7:42 p.m. The crash occurred on US 42 at State Route 302, in Jackson Township.

Srilatha Thadur, age 37, of Ypsilanti Michigan, was driving eastbound on SR 302, in a 2010 Mercedes C300. Thadur failed to stop for a stop sign for eastbound traffic on SR 302, and struck a 2003 Chrysler, Town and Country minivan driven by Josh Moor. Moor was traveling southbound on US 42, and had three passengers in the vehicle. Both vehicles traveled off the east side of the road and into a yard. Passengers in Moor's vehicle, Loretta Meacham, age 77 of Bellevue and Autumn Meacham, age 25 of West Salem were killed as a result of the crash. Moor and a juvenile passenger, were transported to Ashland Samaritan Hospital for their injuries. Srilatha Thadur was transported to Ashland Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.

Thadur was wearing her seatbelt. Moor, Loretta Meacham and Autumn Meacham were not wearing their seatbelts and the juvenile was in a booster seat.

The Ashland County Coroner's Office, the Ashland County Sheriff's Office, Ashland and Polk Fire and Rescues were on scene to assist.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
