Partnership expansion means better food at Browns' stadium

The Cleveland Browns this offseason expanded their relationship with Aramark, which now becomes the general concessionaire at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The company has served as the facility's dining and catering company since 2012.

Beginning this season, general concessions will feature menu items from many of Cleveland's award-winning and nationally renowned culinary stars and local restaurateurs.

All fans will have the opportunity to partake in offerings of Chris Hodgson, Jonathan Sawyer, Michael Symon and Rocco Whalen that previously were only available in premium areas.

"We are pleased to extend to all our fans the excellent food and beverage selections that Aramark has helped us implement to greatly improve our premium areas," said Browns executive vice president and chief revenue officer Brent Stehlik. "With this partnership, we are now able to provide each fan a variety of enjoyable options that also proudly represent Cleveland."

"I'm confident our continued collaboration with Cleveland's top chefs, coupled with our vision for transforming general concessions, will provide Browns fans a world-class food and beverage experience on every level of FirstEnergy Stadium."

As part of the two-phase renovation to FirstEnergy Stadium, new stands will be created in the general concession areas, including adding a stand with Symon's B Spot to the west end zone and introducing a new concept from Whalen, Rocco's Great Lakes Cheesesteaks, in the east end zone that can be accessed by all ticketed fans.

During the regular season, general concessions also will feature new portable concepts from the chef partners on the main concourse, with locations on both sides of FirstEnergy Stadium, complementing the permanent locations.

"Cleveland is at the forefront of a culinary revolution that can be seen in our restaurants, our markets, our people and our sports stadiums, and I'm excited about our continued partnership with the Cleveland Browns and Aramark," said Chef Sawyer. "I'm pleased to announce the opening of 'Sausage and Peppers,' a dining experience in FirstEnergy Stadium that all ticketholders will be able to enjoy. Due in part to the overwhelming success of 'Sawyer's Street Frites' on the club level, expanding to general concessions was an obvious next step."

Aramark's executive chef at FirstEnergy Stadium Steve Aheimer has also created a new menu item paying homage to the Dawg Pound – Bad to the Bone Bologna. It includes fried all-beef bologna, cut into the shape of Dawg bones; white American cheese; sweet pickles; and Chomp's secret, spicy sauce; on soft white roll. The sandwich is complemented with crinkle cut chips and a side of bologna cheese sauce.

During Phase II of the FirstEnergy Stadium renovations in 2015, the Browns will continue to emphasize general admission concessions, as well as improve the gameday experience through modernized club seats, suites and premium areas and new hospitality and fan-engagement areas.

Browns fans can expect to see renovated dining locations and upgraded food and beverage amenities, including modernized menu boards and way-finding throughout the stadium.
