The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a deadly crash that occurred on August 24, 2014 around 7:50 P.M.  The crash occurred on Van Buren Road just south of Center Road, in New Franklin, Summit County.

The crash occurred when a blue, 1999 Chevrolet Lumina was northbound on Van Buren Road and lost control. It then went off the left side of the road and struck an embankment and a tree, and then rolled over, coming to rest on its roof. Both occupants were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle.

Jessica C. Goff, age 26, from Clinton, Ohio sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Charles E. King III, age 32, of Barberton, Ohio was seriously injured in the crash and transported to Akron City Hospital by the Clinton Fire Department.

Alcohol appears to have been a factor in this crash.
