Cleveland Police are investigating an aggravated vehicular homicide incident from early Monday morning.

It happened just after 1:00 a.m. on Fulton Road at Storer Avenue.

Police say Leslie Maldonado, 43, was driving his 1999 Toyota Camry northbound on Fulton and failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming motorcycle which was southbound on Fulton Road.

Maldonado turned left in front of the motorcycle, a 1995 Harley Davidson, colliding with the motorcycle and critically injuring the driver, 25-year old Angel Cuevas, Jr.

Maldonado then left the scene without helping Cuevas. He was highly intoxicated and detained by bystanders. Maldonado was eventually arrested.

He's been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and failing to stop at the scene of the accident.

Cuevas was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office will determine the final cause of death.

Cuevas' family will hold a car wash fundraiser to help with burial costs.  The event is set for Thursday, August 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at O'Reilly's Auto Parts located at 3121 Clark Ave. near W. 31.
