Police: Teen attacked getting into car, suspect on the loose

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Akron police are looking for a man who attacked an 18-year old after she wouldn't give up her purse.

Around 1:00 a.m. Friday morning, the girl was attempting to get into her car, near the intersection of Brittain Road and Pilgrim Street, when she was confronted by the suspect.  

The suspect asked the victim for the time. As the victim looked at her cell phone, the suspect tried to grab her purse and phone. The victim refused to let go of her purse and the suspect punched her in the face.  

The suspect fled without getting anything. The victim suffered a broken nose and a one inch laceration to the left side of her face.

She went to Akron City Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is a white male, 30 – 35 years old, 6'0", 160 – 175 lbs., with brown hair and was wearing a black or dark blue t-shirt and blue jeans.
