Consumer Alert: Meat misbranded or not inspected

OHIO (WOIO) - The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) is issuing a public health alert for various meat and poultry products produced by Tank's Meats, Inc., located at 3355 State Route 51 S., Elmore, Ohio, 43416.

Consumers should be aware that meat and poultry products were misbranded and/or produced without being inspected. Products subject to this alert include:

• Raw Corned Beef

• Cooked Corned Beef

• Beef Pastrami

• Andouille Sausage (Bulk and Rope)

• Italian Sausage with Cheese and Whole Fennel (Bulk and Rope)

• Knockers

• Garlic Knockers

• Elmore Special Roll

• Smoked Italian Sausage with Mozzarella Cheese

• Deli Dinner Ham

• Hungarian Style Hot Dogs

• Cooked Salami

• Smoked Pork Loin

• Smoked Pork Loin Chops

• Smoked Bratwurst and Cheddar Cheese

• Smoked Pork with Barbeque Sauce

Labels include the Tank's Meats, Inc. label, a complete or incomplete ingredient statement, and the facility's establishment number (Est. 76) inside the Ohio mark of inspection.

Products subject to this alert were distributed to various stores and restaurants, including but not limited to Tank's Meats, Inc.

ODA is encouraging anyone who has a meat or poultry item subject to this alert to discard it.

There have been no reports of illness related to this incident.

Anyone showing signs or experiencing symptoms of foodborne illness are encouraged to seek medical attention immediately.
