A little boy has been released from the hospital after being hit by the car.
According to Cleveland Fire and Police the accident happened on Avon Avenue near MLK Drive, on Cleveland's East Side.
Officials say a boy around the age two was chasing after a dog who ran into the street when he was hit.
The child was transported by Cleveland EMS to MetroHealth Medical Center.
The driver stopped at first and got out of the car, but then got back in and drove away when the victim's relatives started to become volatile.
Witnesses took down the drivers plate number, but the driver already called police to report the accident. Sgt. Pillow with Cleveland Police said they are treating it as an accident and no charges will be filed.
