AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Akron Police are looking for answers in a mysterious case that sounds like something out of a action movie.

Authorities say two unmarked Akron Fire Department vehicles were stolen sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon.  Both of the vehicles, 2000 Dodge Stratus sedans, were taken from the training center located at 1309 Emmitt Road.

Around 5 a.m. on August 27, officers found one of the vehicles, set afire, at the intersection of South Main Street and East Miller Avenue.

In the backseat officers discovered a stolen ATM machine.  They would later learn the ATM machine was taken from a North Canton store.

Akron detectives have joined forces with the North Canton Police Department on the theft of the ATM machine.

The second vehicle was also recovered in the morning hours of August 28, in the 1400 block of Holly Avenue. The vehicle had broken windows and also peeled column.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Akron Police at 330-375-2552.
