CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH (WOIO) - The Cuyahoga Falls mom found murdered in her backyard on 8th Street Thursday afternoon, was stabbed to death.
The Summit County Medical Examiner says Amanda Russell, 40, was stabbed multiple times in her neck and torso.
Russell's 14-year-old daughter found her mom's body around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, when she returned home from school. She then called her grandmother, who told her to call 911. She called, too.
From the 911 call:
"My granddaughter came home from school. Her mom wasn't in the house. My granddaughter went out to the garage and found her in there and all she said was, 'Oh Grandma! Come up right now! Mom is hurt!'"
During the teen's 911 call, which 19 Action News has decided not to air, you can hear Russell's daughter tell the dispatcher their front door was open when she came home.
The teen is upset but bravely leads police to her mom.
Neighbors say Russell has only lived at the home a short time.
"She really didn't talk to a lot of people. She has only been here for about six months. She was really quiet and kept to herself," said neighbor Ted Finan.
BCI and police are investigating. No arrest has been made yet.
