CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH (WOIO) -

Cuyahoga Falls Police have now charged a 44-year-old man with the stabbing death of Amanda Russell.

The 40-year-old mother was found dead in the backyard of her 8th Street home on August 28.

Police Say Russell's teenaged daughter found her mom's body when she came home from school.

Jeffrey Conrad, Russell's ex-boyfriend, is charged with aggravated murder.

19 Action News Investigative Reporter Scott Taylor has obtained an 18-page police report stating Conrad was found hiding behind a tree in the Wildwood Villa Angela Park in Cleveland just hours after her death.

Conrad had served time in jail in 2012 and this year for violent incidents in connection to Amanda Russell -- including assault and domestic violence menacing.

Russell did have a protection order against Conrad.

Officers say they told Conrad over and over again to drop the buck knife, including after he pointed the knife at an officer.

Police say Conrad said 'you go ahead and do what you have to do'.

Conrad was tazed and ran into Lake Erie. Officers went after him and tazed him again once he was caught. He eventually dropped the 8-inch hunting knife.

Conrad also faces criminal charges from that incident.
