An 8-year-old who was crossing the street to head home in 3900 block of Caryle Avenue in Cleveland was robbed of his cell phone.
Second District Cleveland Police officers were on patrol around 7 p.m., near the area, when they were alerted by a man who said his step-son's phone was just stolen.
At the same time, a Good Samaritan who witnessed the robbery followed the suspect on foot, then in his car. The suspect dropped the phone and the witness returned it to the little boy.
Witnesses gave police a description and location where the suspect was last seen. A 15-year-old was arrested near Lincoln West High School shortly after.
Charges are pending.
