19 Action News is investigating why a downtown Cleveland park is crowded late at night with adults, schoolkids and even toddlers.
Reporter Ed Gallek and others have noticed people playing and relaxing frequently at 10 and 11 p.m. in Perk Park. Yet Perk closes at 9 p.m.
One man told us the park has become a cultural hangout, a gathering place for Arabic and Indian people.
But what about the kids out so late on school nights? One man told us it didn't matter since the kids were off the next day, but we checked, and there was, in fact, school scheduled.
Years ago, the park became a murder scene. That led to a big renovation. The park is now popular during the day with the downtown crowd. And again, popular with folks gathering at night.
On Thursday night at 11 p.m., we saw Cleveland Police clearing the park. And we've seen that before.
We're waiting to hear back from police about just what enforcement they've done at that park.
