The Sixth Annual University Hospitals Parkinson's Boot Camp was held Saturday at the Global Center for Health Innovation.
During the event, Cleveland Heights resident Marilyn Brandt, 82, was honored as this year's Parkinson's Disease Champion by Dr. Ben Walter, director, UH Movement Disorder Center.
Hospital staff that organized the event say nearly 1,000 people were in attendance.
The free annual event is designed for people with Parkinson's Disease and their caregivers. Attendees learned exercise techniques, mind and body wellness practices, plus invigorating skills to help them manage Parkinson's.
