Cleveland motorists may experience some delays this weekend as the Ohio Department of Transportation works on highway construction. ODOT released the following information:
• On Saturday, September 6 crews will close I-90 east at the I-71/I-490 split from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Westside motorists may detour via I-490 east to I-77 north to I-90 east, or downtown locations. Also during this time, the right lane will be closed on I-90 east over the George Voinovich Bridge (#GVVBridge). Interstate 71 motorists entering the George Voinovich Bridge will not be impacted.
• On Saturday and Sunday, September 6 and 7, motorists will encounter daytime right lane closures on I-90 west over the #GVVBridge as well as on the ramp from Ontario Street to I-90 west. Closure times will be coordinated to avoid disruption to downtown event traffic.
On Saturday and Sunday, September 6 and 7, flaggers will intermittently control traffic on Canal Road. During the week of September 8, Canal Road motorists will notice a small realignment of the roadway beneath I-90.
Each night Friday and Saturday, September 5 and 6, motorists along Orange Avenue, Woodland Avenue and East 30th Street should be alert for temporary single lane closures as crews performing striping operations. This work will continue daytime during the week of September 8.
