LORAIN, OH (WOIO) -

Lorain Police are looking for Robert Starr, a man with whom they are well acquainted.

Starr's latest run-in with the law came last month, when police say he broke into his former girlfriend's house, kidnapped their 5-month-old boy, and dangled him outside of a car window as he sped down the street. The mother scrambled to get into the back seat of the car and was then beaten as she watched in horror.

Both mother and child were eventually released. The infant was unharmed, but the mother had scratches and bruises on her face and head.

Starr is considered a career criminal who police say not only beats his former girlfriend, but also assaults police. Moreover, police say he uses drug money to bond out on robbery charges. In the last two years, Starr has had seven court cases resolved.

The judge in the case gave no reason why he allowed Starr to bond out. That ruling prompted police to say they are fed up with him continually being released.

Robert Starr remains at large and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. Do not approach him. Instead, call Lorain Police at 440-204-2103.
