RICHLAND COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - On Monday around 4:30 p.m., the Mansfield Highway Patrol Post responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on US-42, west of SR 546, in Lexington.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle and 2008 Dodge minivan. The motorcycle was traveling west on Main Street (US-42) and the van was stopped, facing south in an alley. Evidence at the scene indicates that the motorcycle hit the curb, lost control and then struck the minivan.
The driver of the motorcycle was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the minivan was treated at Ohio Health Med Central Hospital in Mansfield for non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
