(WOIO) - TMZ Sports is reporting that NFL may have never seen the elevator video of Ray Rice punching his fiancee because they never asked for it.
According to TMZ, sources at the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City told them had the NFL contacted them to request video, they would have given it to them.
The latest accusation is another element to February's elevator incident which led to the Raven's terminating Rice's contract and the NFL suspending him indefinitely.
The NFL says they requested the video but never got it. They also maintain they never saw the video until Monday.
Rice was in the middle of a 5-year $50 million contract when he was cut Monday.
The punishment stems from a fight between him and his fiancee Janay Palmer earlier this year. The two were arrested on simple assault charges after Rice was seen dragging Palmer's body from the elevator.
The couple got married the day after Rice was indicted on charges of aggravated assault. Rice was initially suspended for two games.
I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closes friend. But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret everyday is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass off for all his life just to gain ratings is a horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is!
Ravensnation we love you!
