OLMSTED FALLS, OH (WOIO) -

Volunteers from Home Depot are coming together to help a local Iraqi veteran complete construction of his home.

Alex Haworth suffered hearing loss, severe brain injury and multiple broken bones from a bomb explosion while serving in the military.

Alex continues to serve and protect his Olmsted Falls community as a police officer.

Due to the mounting medical bills, work and stresses of raising a family, Alex and his wife haven't been able to finish building their Columbia Road home.

So Team Depot, the Home Depot's associate-led volunteer force is stepping in to help, as part of the company's fourth annual celebration of service.

To honor Alex and his family, Team Depot, in partnership with Cuyahoga County Veterans Service Commission will complete construction on their home to ensure the Haworth family has a safe and comfortable place to live.
