As part of a weekly series, NFL.com has released their picks for the overall best rookies of week one in the regular season.
Following Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, Browns running back Terrence West was named number four overall. He is preceded by Jaguars Allen Hurns (#3), Panthers Kelvin Benjamin (#2), and topping the list is Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
Filling in for an injured Ben Tate, West made his debut totalling 16 carries and 100 yards, the most yardage of any rookie running back in the league in season's first week. 22 of those yards earned Sunday afternoon were part of a key run at the beginning of the second half for a touchdown. That score being the first during the Browns comeback. In the Browns loss, Steelers Ryan Shazier, a former Ohio State Buckeye, gave Cleveland's West a run for his money, taking him down hard in the third quarter. He grabbed number seven on the NFL.com list.
