3 mile long diesel spill cleaned up on city's west side

Cleveland Police cleaned up a three mile long diesel spill from W. 110 Western to I-71 and Bellaire.

It started Wednesday afternoon when a truck began leaking fuel on Lorain and W. 110 and continued on Lorain to W. 130.

19 Action News has learned the truck was hauling another truck, whose tank was open.  

There has been no mention of imminent danger for residents or other drivers. 

The spill has been contained.

The clean-up process started with an anti-inflammatory substance being tossed onto the road.

The ramp to I-71 South at Bellaire Road was closed for a short while, but re-opened around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
