(RNN) - The Minnesota Vikings have placed Adrian Peterson on the exempt list, the team reported in a statement released early Wednesday morning at about 1 a.m. by Zygi Wilf and Mark Wilf.  The placement on the list means that the football player, under scrutiny for child abuse charges, will be required to stay away from all team activities. "We want to be clear: we have a strong stance regarding the protection and welfare of children, and we want to be sure we get this right," the statement read. "At the same time we want to express our support for Adrian and acknowledge his seven-plus years of outstanding commitment to this organization and this community. Adrian emphasized his desire to avoid further distraction to his teammates and coaches while focusing on his current situation; this resolution accomplishes these objectives as well."

Patchy fog will welcome the last Wednesday morning of summer 2014 in many spots south and east of Cleveland.
Dry weather will persist beneath a mix of sun and clouds both today and tomorrow.  As tonight's lows dip into the mid to upper 40s, fair skies will be the rule.
Look for highs both today and Thursday in the mid to upper 60s.
