Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Milan Post were contacted by the Kosciusco County Sheriff's Department, Indiana, in reference to a suspect wanted for attempted murder.
The Sheriff's Department had information possibly placing the suspect, Abundio Lozano, traveling eastbound on the Ohio Turnpike during the early morning hours on Wednesday September 17. A trooper was able to locate the suspected vehicle; Mr. Lozano was allegedly traveling in, eastbound as indicated by the Sheriff's Department.
Due to the seriousness of the offense and totality of the circumstances, felony arrest procedures were utilized to affect the arrest. The traffic stop was conducted at mile post 138 in Amherst Township, Lorain County. A total of five troopers were able to safely, and without incident, take Mr. Lozano and three additional passengers into custody.
Mr. Lozano was later taken to the Lorain County Jail where he was incarcerated pending further action and extradition back to the state of Indiana by the Kosciusco Sheriff's Office.
