LORAIN, OH (WOIO) -

The City of Lorain announced Thursday that the concert series "Rockin' on the River" will be held at the Black River Landing in 2015.

The family-friendly event is a weekly concert series that brings in local bands and out of town acts for live performances.

Rockin' on the River was started in Cuyahoga Falls more than 25 years ago. This summer they held their last concert there.

Lorain recently held "Roverfest" at the Black River Landing. The city has been working with the Lorain Port Authority to host many different events at the venue.

"Our plan is working," said Mayor Chase Ritenauer. "Our investment in infrastructure, elimination of blight, remediation of our waterfront and partnership with the Port in the last three years have made this possible. People are taking notice of Lorain's turnaround."

Promoter, Bob Earley, thanked fans on Facebook for the last 11 years he's been promoting the festival. Earley says they will announce the lineup soon. You can visit their website for more details.
