WOODMERE, OH (WOIO) - The new Apple iPhones went on sale 8 a.m. EST. People lined up for hours to be among the first to snag either an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 plus.
There were four million pre-orders in the first 24 hours. Some people who pre-ordered may not get their phones until early November.
Many people are excited for the bigger screens. The iPhone 6's screen is 4.7 inches. The 6 plus is 5.5 inches. Apple's playing catch up in the screen department. Competitors like Samsung have already gone with a bigger screen.
The biggest impact that could set Apple apart is with Apple pay, the company's wireless payment system. It launches in October.
The basic model iPhone 6 will cost you $869 with the iPhone 6 plus going for around $1,000.
