TWINSBURG, OH (WOIO) - Twinsburg leaders envision a mixed-use development -- town homes, apartments and a retail base of quaint shops and restaurants.
"Basically a family oriented section of the town to come to shop have dinner and spend time with your family," Ted Yates, Twinsburg City Council.
Negotiations are ongoing with the developer and it's hoped property acquisition will start within the next few months.
Just 10 minutes down the road, on 91, sits Hudson and their wonderful first and main development. The idea in Twinsburg is similar, to build an identity.
"Hudson is a destination spot and we want to set Twinsburg apart from what Hudson has done and have our own area to attract non-residents to Twinsburg," added Ted Yates.
It would also be expected that the development here would bring some much needed reinvestment to the other areas surrounding the town square and help fill a hole that the city sees in its population.
"We identified that among young professionals there's a gap missing here as far as housing and places for those young professionals to live," Ted Yates said.
