Why is a Cleveland Police car outside League Park every night?

19 Action News found a Cleveland Police car in recent weeks sitting outside League Park in Cleveland all night, every night. And we're asking questions to find out why.

The city just spent millions to fix up League Park, a big part of Cleveland sports history, situated in the Hough section. Babe Ruth even hit his 500th home run at the park.

It's not clear why a car has been stationed there.

We met a guy locking up for the day, and he didn't know of any recent trouble.

A neighbor across the street has noticed the police car and she says it sure makes her feel better. She has not noticed problems lately, but she did see vandals during the renovation.

In fact, Exodus Cain is facing charges for stealing from the site during construction.

But if there's no ongoing problem, isn't that car needed on patrol?

The chief's office issued a statement: "The detail utilizes a one man car. It is temporary and has been implemented at the district commander's discretion."

We'll keep watching what's happening there.
