CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

One woman is dead and another is injured after an overnight shooting at a bar in Cleveland Heights.

Around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, September, 20, Cleveland Heights Police responded to the 1900 block of South Taylor Road at The Double R Bar and Grill on a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found two female victims with gunshot wounds. One female was inside the bar, while the other was found on the sidewalk outside the entrance.

Both victims were transported to area hospitals. One victim is listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound to her leg. The second died shortly after getting to MetroHealth Medical Center.

The Medical Examiner has identified the victim as Arrion Y. Smiley, 25, of Cleveland.

Smiley leaves behind a young daughter.

Eight men became involved in a fight inside of the bar and were told to leave.

One male returned to the bar and unloaded his gun into the building.

He shot out the front door, the front window and could have hit Crystal Gladden who was about to take a cigarette break next door.

"He fired 19 rounds. It could have been me out there smoking, " says Gladden.

The other shooting victim has not been identified and was taken to the

hospital where she is recovering.

The Double R bills itself as the newest, hottest upscale lounge on Cleveland's East side but Charles Brown says the club could benefit from an increased police presence.

"If there was a police car sitting out there more likely than not, he would have left. He would not have done that," says Brown.

Police continue to investigate but at this time no arrests have been made.
