According to Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal, Cleveland Cavaliers Forward, Tristan Thompson will ask upwards of $11 Million per year on his next contract.
Thompson is eligible for an extension before Oct. 31, and he'll be a restricted free agent next summer.
Derrick Favors of the Utah Jazz received a four years, $49 million dollar contract. Larry Sanders of the Milwaukee Bucks received a four years, $44 million dollar contract, Thompson is seeking that type of money.
Has Thompson proved himself to be worth that kind of money? What favors Thompson is he shares an agent with now teammate LeBron James, Rich Paul. Paul can use LeBron James coming back to Cleveland as leverage to get the organization to dish out extra money to his agent.
Thompson was the 4th overall pick in the 2011 draft and has been a solid role player for the Cavs.
The 23-year old averaged 11.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game last season, and with the addition of Lebron James, those numbers could go up.
