ClevelandHomicide Detectives are currently investigating the death of a 29-year-old male that occurred on Friday, September 26 around 4 a.m.
Fourth district officers were dispatched to an address in the 3200 block of E.128 for a fight between a woman and her boyfriend.
Officers were told that the woman's step-father was also on scene and involved in the altercation.
When officers arrived, they found the step-father restraining the boyfriend, who was unresponsive.
EMS pronounced the male dead at the home.
A preliminary investigation reveals the female and the deceased male were involved in a physical fight and the step-father attempted to intervene when the boyfriend produced a knife.
As step-father and boyfriend struggled, the female struck the boyfriend with a bat several times. The step-father grabbed the boyfriend by the neck and took him to the ground holding him until police arrived.
Both the 43-year-old female and her 56-year-old step-father were arrested.
EMS treated the step-father on scene for a laceration to the hand.
Officers say the prosecutor's office will be consulted in connection with charges against both parties.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 29-year-old Jamel Robinson.
Robinson's final cause of death has yet to be determined.
