No leads after teen shot at east side birthday party

The Cleveland Division of Police Third District Detective Bureau is currently investigating a felonious assault shooting that occurred on Saturday around 11:30 p.m.

Third district officers were dispatched to East 36th Street and Chester Avenue for a call of a large group of juveniles disturbing in the street. 

As officers approached, they were flagged down by a juvenile who said he was shot. The 16-year-old boy told officers while he was attending a large birthday party at the Masonic Temple, a large fight began and several hundred juveniles fled the building.

The victim said he heard multiple shots and was struck in the leg. He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center and treated for his injury.

Police say there is no suspect information and no arrests have been made.

The Third District Detective Bureau will follow up and conduct the investigation. Anyone with more details is urged to call police at 216-623-5300.
