The Roc the Croc race will be held at Crocker Park, 189 Crocker Park Blvd. Westlake, Ohio 44145.
Roc 4NB Cure is a nonprofit organization that is committed to helping kids fight cancer. Roc 4NB Cure is a non profit that will support families by providing money for medical bills, travel expenses, second opinions, or anything that will take away stress for families fighting pediatric cancers.
There are many ways to help the cause. You can pre-register for the Roc the Croc race for $20. If you can't participate and want to help the cause you can head to www.roc4nbcure.org and donate on the homepage.
Now let's meet the Grand Marshall for the parade that takes place after the race, 4-year old Fiona Smith. Fiona is suffering from a Stage 4 Wilms Tumor (Kidney Cancer) that has affected her kidney, lungs and renal artery.
Fiona has undergone chemo and radiation to shrink both the tumor and nodules in her lungs. She has had the tumor and her kidney removed along with her adrenal gland, renal artery and the portions of her liver and diaphragm that the tumor was pressed up against. The Smith family needs four consecutive clear scans before she can be declared in remission and five years of clear scans before she will officially be declared a survivor.
Fiona can be seen in her Batgirl costume running in the race this Saturday.
There will be many events for the kids after the race including face painting, balloon artist, stilt, walkers, magicians, and more.
