SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - A 1st grader in the Springfield Local School District was sent home Tuesday, for having two western style toy cap guns.
A bus driver called Springfield Township Police from Ewart Road around 8:30 a.m. for a student who had two guns. The bus driver did not know the guns were toys.
When officers arrived, they found a six-year-old child with the toy guns.
No children were injured, but some were shaken up.
The six-year-old was released to his parent and sent home.
All other children on the bus continued to school and their parents were notified.
No charges will be filed, in part due to the child's age.
